Introduction

TUSL2 is designed for users who are looking for the best in quality and performance for Intel Pentium III processors. The TUSL2 supports Pentium^® III Tualatin and Coppermine, as well as Celeron™ processors via the exceptional Intel 815E B0 chipset. With integrated graphics, optional audio and RAID, the TUSL2 is designed for users who want maximum value and advanced features in a single unit.

Intel 815E B0 Chipset

The Intel 815E B0 supports 133MHz front-side-bus and memory bus speeds, as well as up to 512MB of PC133 SDRAM. Graphics are provided by an integrated graphics controller that can also be replaced by AGP4X graphihcs cards via an AGP Pro slot.

Optional RAID 0 or 1

Now ASUS offers users a chance to create a "Redundant Array of Independent Disks" with the TUSL2. Create either a RAID 0 or a RAID 1 array from the "FastTrack100 Lite™ BIOS using Promise^® Technologies new IDE controller chip: PDC20265R. The chip offers three basic modes: ATA-100, RAID 0 or RAID 1. RAID 0, or "data striping" mode sets up two hard disks in an array for data striping, significantly improving read and write performance of the hard disk. ATA-100 is satisfies the highest standards for IDE data transfers. The RAID 0 mode function offers various advantages: operate a mini-server from your home, or speed-up the cumbersome process of digital audio/video editing. RAID 0 offers superb performance at a much more affordable price than SCSI card-disk arrays. RAID 1 mode, also called "data mirroring", creates a super-secure hard disk array that effectively backs up all the data on both disks in an array.

Expandability

The TUSL2 offers 6 PCI slots, 4 USB ports, 1 Communication & Network Riser (CNR ) slot for 10/100 MBs LAN networking, ADSL, or a high-speed modem. Watch digital TV or use the latest LCD monitor by connecting to the onboard LCDTV headers.

PC/SC Smart Card Support

ASUS bundles a complete package of practical software applications, including the amazing Winbond^® Smart Manager™ for log-on and always-on PC security. The TUSL2-C can be paired with a Smart Card Reader Option Kit that comes complete with a GSM/SIM Card adapter and TZT's Read2-In-01 Smart Card Reader unit, which meets PC/SC standards and is compatible with the Winbond^® Smart Manager™ software.

C-Media Audio (optional)

An optional C-Media^® Audio Chip CMI8738 supports 6-channel audio, enabling surround sound and 5.1 speaker configurations.
