Introduction

The TUA266 phases in new strengths and flexibility in motherboard technology for Socket 370 Intel^® Pentium^® III (Tualatin and Coppermine) /Celeron™ processors up to 1GHz and beyond. This motherboard enables 266MHz memory bus speeds and PC2100/PC1600 DDR support as well as PC133 SDRAM support via the ALi^® Aladdin Pro 5T DDR chipset. The TUA266 is a flexible, high-performance motherboard for maximizing your CPU's potential.

DDR/SDR Flexibility

With two DDR SDRAM sockets onboard, the TUA266 supports 2GB of PC2100/PC1600 DDR SDRAM and delivers up to 2.1GB/s peak bandwidth. Three SDR DIMM sockets are also available to support up to 3GB with PC100/PC133 SDRAM, allowing memory configuration flexibility.

3D Graphics Support

An Accelerated Graphics Port (AGP) Pro 4X interface is onboard to support today's most sophisticated graphics cards that display 3D graphic images and streaming videos.

High Quality 3D Audio

High quality audio support comes through and optional C-Media CMI8738SX onboard audio controller. With this advanced audio capability and good speakers, watching movies with total surround sound and listening to the latest MP3s right from the PC become a reality without the extra expense for a sound card.

Power Management

The M1635D+ South Bridge includes a Power Management Unit (PMU) that supports ACPI and OS-directed power management to meet PC98/PC99 specifications. The PMU features comprise of the different power saving modes, system activity and display activity monitoring, multiple external wakeup events, thermal alarm, and power loss recovery.

Super I/O Connectivity

In addition to standard I/O interfaces that include ECP/EPP/SPP parallel port, two serial ports, and floppy disk controller, TUA266 also provides six USB ports, and an IrDA 1.0 infrared connector for wireless communications. The built-in super I/O controller incorporates full function universal asynchronous receiver/transmitters (UARTs) that support 16-byte data FIFOs.
