Latest Processor Technology

The P4B-M motherboard supports the latest Intel^® Pentium 4 478 Willamette / Northwood Processor, also known as P4, via a 478-pin surface mount ZIF socket. The Pentium 4 processor utilizes the advanced 0.18 micron processor core in FC-PGA2 package for a 2GHz frequency, while the Northwood processor uses the 0.13 micron processor core with 512KB L2 cache for up to a speedy 2.4GHz frequency. The P4 offers optimized performance for audio, video, and Internet applications.

C-Media 6-channel PCI Audio

The optional C-Media CMI8738 PCI Audio Controller has built-in CODEC, and provides 6-channel functions for AC-3, HRTF-based 3D postional audio, supporting DirectSound™ 3D and A3D interface. With this advanced audio capability and good speakers, watching movies with total surround sound and listening to the latest MP3s right from the PC become a reality without the extra expenses for a sound card.

SPDIF Interface

The P4B-M provides convenient connectivity to external home theater audio systems via an SPDIF/out (Sony-Philips Digital Interface) In/Out module, which supports coaxial and optical interfaces. Experience 5.1-channel surround sound and enhanced 3D audio while playing your favorite DVDs and computer games.

Optional Realtek LAN

The optional Realtek^® RTL8100 is a highly integrated single-chip Fast Ethernet controller. It is enhanced with an ACPI management function to provide efficient power management for advanced operating systems. The LAN controller also provides a remote wake-up function to increase cost-efficiency in network maintenance and management.

Smart Card Reader Support

A special connector for the Smart Card Reader comes onboard to support the cutting-edge technology for increased security in authenticating online transactions, editing IC-based information, and a lot more.
