The Chipset
Advanced VIA VT8633 chipset enables support for new PC2100 and PC1600 DDR SDRAM. The chipset offers full prime quality AGP and the V-link option increases the bandwidth between the North and South Bridge controllers to avoid bottlenecks. The South Bridge component, the VT8233, also supports new IDE standard ATA-100. The whole chipset is magnificently balanced to give users maximum performance versatility and easy scalability.
DDR Performance
3 DDR SDRAM DIMM slots host up to 3GB of new standard PC2100 / PC1600 SDRAM, enabling very fast bus speeds, and activates an unhindered avenue of host-data bandwidth. The DDR SDRAM memory system helps to balance system performance, transmitting data on both sides of the memory clock, doubling the processing speed of regular PC133 SDRAM. The high-speed DDR SDRAM helps to overcome all the usual problems of lagging performance caused by bottlenecks.
3Com LAN Onboard
The ASUS CUV266 incorporates 3Com's 10/100 Mbps PCI 2.2 LAN controller chip onboard. This network chip builds in performance, reliability and intelligence and a new suite of desktop management features: Enhanced Remote Wake Up, Remote System Alerts, Wired for Management and features 3Com's innovative DynamicAccess technology for effective solutions to internet service issues.
